After shooting this event in 2025, I was pleased to photograph the 2026 edition of this special corporate celebration for XMC Events, held this time at the Le Centre Sheraton Montreal Hotel. The evening brought colleagues together to celebrate long service and recognise employees who have dedicated decades of their careers to Sobeys supermarkets.
The event combined an awards ceremony with a celebratory dinner, giving colleagues the opportunity to recognise one another’s achievements, share the occasion and mark an important professional milestone.
Long-service awards are a meaningful part of company culture. They recognise not only individual commitment, but also the relationships, experience and shared history that employees build over many years.
The evening celebrated employees reaching 25 years with the organisation, alongside special recognition for colleagues who had reached 30, 35, 40, 45 and even 50 years of service. It was a wonderful reminder of the value of loyalty and the contribution people make to an organisation over the course of a career.
My brief was to document the celebration, from the formal presentation of awards to the more relaxed atmosphere of the dinner. This meant capturing the important moments on stage, the presentation of awards and the reactions of colleagues, as well as the interactions and candid moments that brought the evening to life.
Many thanks to the good folk at XMC for bringing me in again this year to shoot the event.
